Last week the Grade 5 students went to British Hills in Fukushima. They had a lot of fun immersing themselves in the English language, creating memories with their classmates and of course, eating delicious food. All the students came back with exciting stories to tell their family and teachers. After years of studying English at Felice, the students can finally use their English to communicate with not only each other, but also people outside of Felice. They worked on building their confidence in speaking English, presenting their speeches in front of the British Hill staff and enjoying spontaneous conversation with those around them!
To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.
先週、5年生は福島県にあるブリティッシュヒルズへ行きました。英語にどっぷり浸かり、クラスメイトと思い出を作り、美味しい料理も堪能し、とても充実した時間を過ごしました。子供たちは皆、家族や先生方に話す楽しい思い出をたくさん持って帰ってきました。フェリーチェで何年も英語を学んだ子供たちは、仲間同士だけでなく、ついにフェリーチェの外の人々ともコミュニケーションをとることができるようになりました。彼らは英語を話すことに自信をつけ、ブリティッシュヒルズのスタッフの前でスピーチを発表し、周りの人たちと自然と会話を楽しんでいました。
言語を学ぶことは、世界を見るためのもう一つの窓を持つようなものです。
